my surname

Hi

I understand my suname Mac Giolla means 'son of the follower' but i also understand mac giolla is usually followed by a personal name like 'Mac Giolla Somhairle' (son of the follower of samuel)

So with my name, have I had a personal name taken off my surname through anglicisation... or are there any examples of Mac Giolla without a name after it? Just want to know if im missing something or if my surname is the original one!

Thanks

Mac Giolla
