Scotch-Irish

I am wondering if the name Skinner would be considered to be Scotch-Irish? Or just English?

Also the name Gann. Scotch-Irish?

This is an Anglo-Scottish surname, the origins of both the Scottish & English names are the same. The name seemingly came from the Norman Invasion of Britain. Where can you trace your ancestors back to? Scotland, England, Ireland? At one point your Scottish ancestors may have emigrated to Ireland earning the description Scots-Irish when they landed in America.

Gann is of Irish origin, an anglicized form of the old Gaelic-Irish name "Mac Gann". I think it originates in Ulster.
