As far as I am aware, the name Murray has both Scottish and Irish origins.A few Irish versions of Murray would be "Ó Muirí","Ó Muireadhaigh" and "Mac Muireadhaigh".

Murray is mostly of Scottish origin but a few Murrays are thought to have originated in Ireland from an anglicized version of a Gaelic name. Murrays also arrived in Ireland via the Scots-Irish / Ulster-Scots settlers in the early 1600's
