I need to know what my surname Rea is in Irish.Can anyone help?

Rea

Rea / Ray / Reay / Wray = Ó Riabhaigh

Ní Riabhaigh(female)
Uí Riabhaigh(married female)

Ó Riabhaigh is also the Irish for the surnames Ravey,Reavey,Reavy etc.

And just to avoid confusion:

Rae = Raith

Reagh / Reigh = Riabhach

Cavan = Ó Loingsigh
Clare = Ó Loigsigh
Cork = Ó Loingsigh
Tipp = Ó Loingsigh

Donegal = Mag Loingsigh...pron mag lingshihaun

Female forms change pronounciation.

Mulligan = Ó Maolagáin..Donegal and Mayo. Mulligan.
Ó Mothlacháin....Leitrim/Longford. Mollahan.
Ó Maoileagáin.....Antrim/S. Derry. Millikin.
Ó Maoilchaoine....Clare. Mulqueen.
Ó Diamáin.....East Derry. Diamond.

Kiernan is Mac Thiarnáin (older Irish Mac Thighearnáin).

I checked out www.ireland101.com by putting in a few sample names to translate and got some awful results. The Irish for Justin is NOT Siústan but Saoirbhreathach. They got my surname wrong too! BEWARE.

CORRECTION....Saoirbhreathach IS the correct modern spelling for Justin. Saerbhreathach is the older obselete form! The root words are saor meaning 'free, free person' and breathach meaning 'just'(derived from the same source as breitheamh meaning 'to judge')
