I'm irish, but what clan do I decend from?

My mothers maiden name is thrower and her line is an irish line. My father's last name is Addison and it's half irish on that side. Other half is native american but male dominant is Irish. What clan could I possibly decend from?

The Addison clan comes from Dumbartonshire in West Central Scotland. There is a strong possibility that your ancestors are of Scotch-Irish decent. Many people from Central and Lowlands of Scotland migrated to Ulster (Northern Ireland) in the 16th and 17th century. This was known as the plantation of Ulster.

What I forgot to mention is that many people from Ulster emigrated to USA and Canada in the 17th,18th and 19th centuries and took their Scotch-Irish traditions with them . Back here in Scotland Scotch-Irish are known as Ulster-Scots and are mostly Presbyterian.

My family name is McGourty. I believe the family came from Leitrim, however I do not know where exactly. Wondering what clan this name comes from.
